Waiting for Cousteau is undeservedly one of Jarre's lesser-known gems. Not known for his ambient work (see Geometry of Love), he has created a lovely atmosphere with the album's longest selection, "Waiting for Cousteau". And Amazon is selling the MP3 album for **cheap**/5(61).

The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau has been one of television's most celebrated programs of all time. Jean Michel Jarre, a countryman of Jacques Cousteau's, composed and performed an e-music opus in honor of the oceanographer. En Attendant Cousteau (aka Waiting for Cousteau) is a departure from Jarre's usual format. This disc has three tracks that are longer than his normal tracks.

Waiting for Cousteau/En Attendant Cousteau is an album that came at a particularly interesting time in the frenchman's career. This is the last of three albums used to underpin huge live events, Rendez-vous (Houston) and Revolutions (London) being the other two.
