As with nearly every Ayreon album, it is a concept album with each character being portrayed by one singer. However unlike previous albums, The Human Equation is not a sci-fi story but take place almost entirely in the mind of a character called Me who is in a coma after a car accident, with each song consisting of one day spent in coma.5/5(78).

Released in this CD is Arjen Anthony Lucassen's third full album release with his group Ayreon and is an showcase (in my opinion) of some of his best work. For me Ayreon represents the highest quality sound and musicianship around.

Jan 27,  · With 20 tracks over 2 CDs the story of "The Human Equation" is essentially this: the main character, married, has found out that his wife and best friend had an affair and in order to make them (and everyone else) pay he crashed his car and ended in a coma instead of (ostensibly what he was going for) killing himself/5().

From album to album, Arjen "Ayreon" Lucassen surprises us with even more elaborated and complex albums. Human Equation is the best Ayreon album to date (in virtuosism) and a fine successor of the opera rock Into the Electric Castle. The story of this double album is about a man who suffers a car accident and enters in coma/5().
