In their debut #1 Record, Big Star sings songs about India, their baby when she is beside them, going to rock n roll shows and #1 Record was a naive and melancholic record with acoustic guitars. In their second album Radio City they sing aggresive songs with dark lyrics due to their situation while recording it.

Jan 30,  · Big Star's long-running acclaim is something that hits home for the year-old Stephens, who is praising the remastered sound quality of the new vinyl versions of "#1 Record" and "Radio City." "It's definitely a buzz," said Stephens during a recent telephone interview with the Times Record.

Largely lacking co-leader Chris Bell, Big Star's second album also lacked something of the pop sweetness (especially the harmonies) of #1 bepachardreneanortbrunidpotyskompma.coinfo it possessed was Alex Chilton's urgency (sometimes desperation) on songs that made his case as a genuine rock & roll eccentric. If #1 Record had a certain pop perfection that brought everything together, Radio City was the sound of everything.

Oct 16,  · Big Star "Radio city" Discussion in 'Music Corner' started by Sear, Oct 16, I'll always rate #1 Record slightly higher, but I still love almost all of Radio City. It's just a different approach. I love the simplicity of "Way Out West" and "She's a Mover," as well as the simple innocence of "I'm in Love with a Girl.".
